At Ravishing Fashionistas, our purpose is to empower individuals to embrace their individuality with confidence. We go beyond breaking stereotypes in the fashion industry by redefining what it means to be a model, proving that beauty, strength, and style belong to everyone; regardless of body type, gender, identity, background, or belief. Our movement is about more than fashion; it’s about creating a space where self-expression is celebrated, and confidence becomes a way of life

 

Who We Are

We exist to help individuals embrace themselves confidently by breaking through stereotypes in the fashion and beauty industries. We are setting a new standard where anyone can be a model in their own right and own their confidence, irrespective of body type, gender, identity, cultural background, or beliefs.

 

Our vision is to empower people from all walks of life to reach their maximum potential, discover their uniqueness, and step into the best version of themselves.

 

Our Journey

Under the leadership of Upma Kite, the Ravishing Fashionistas team has delivered four consecutive SOLD-OUT fashion shows that have drawn overwhelming support. The first was held in March 2019 at Sofitel, followed by February 2020 at Stamford Plaza, August 2021 at the Royal International Convention Centre, and most recently on August 6th, 2022, at Old Government House.

 

Upma Kite, Mrs. Universal Australia 2019, founded Ravishing Fashionistas with a vision to deliver an inclusive and extraordinary experience. Guided by this vision, RF has launched a Modelling Academy that provides mentoring and coaching for aspiring models of all backgrounds and identities.

 

Every year, RF pledges to donate part of the profits raised through its events to causes such as the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Cancer Council, UN Women Committee Australia, and Dignifying Women Foundation. With a team of dedicated volunteers, RF offers mentoring, coaching, and empowerment so that all individuals — regardless of size, age, identity, or culture — can shine with confidence.

Upma Kite – Founder & Concept Creator

Upma Kite has always believed that every individual is beautiful. As a marriage counsellor, pilot, community leader, and Mrs. Universal Australia 2019, she has consistently challenged outdated beliefs and worked to abolish prejudice in all forms.

 

Her vision is simple yet powerful: to inspire confidence, self-worth, and equality for everyone. Through Ravishing Fashionistas and the Dignifying Women Foundation, she continues to mentor and uplift people facing challenges — including survivors of domestic violence and those who have faced discrimination.

 

Today, Upma is not only a fashion icon but also an advocate for diversity and inclusivity. Her belief is unwavering: positive actions lead to positive outcomes. With RF, she is breaking boundaries in the fashion world, proving that beauty, strength, and confidence have no limits.

What we do?

The most difficult barriers to overcome are often the ones you erect for yourself, so say yes to yourself and then see what happens. This is the mindset we want to inculcate into the minds of all women, especially those wanting to make a career in modelling. We also want to mentor and guide these women as well as train them to be their Best.

 

Ravishing Fashionistas is not your typical modelling agency that looks for size-zero models with ‘perfect’ hair and skin to walk the ramp at Fashion Shows and Weeks. Instead, we are here to break that trend by bringing inclusiveness and ‘realness’ to the modelling and beauty world.

 

We have a four-pronged strategy to accomplishing this objective that includes:

Offering the resources, platform, and/or confidence needed by young, middle-aged and older women to overcome their fears and break the stereotypes in the beauty, fashion, and related industries.

 

Empowering women suffering from domestic violence to not only take a stand against their aggressors, but also to confidently venture out into the world to explore the numerous opportunities that await them in beauty, fashion, and other fields.

 

Helping women looking to make a career in the modeling or fashion industry to grow and become the best versions of themselves through the right guidance, mentoring, training and workshops.

 

Using partnerships and collaborative events to support local women in business to help them grow and flourish; the objective is to help women-owned/run local businesses so they can grow to a level where it is possible for them to support other, deserving women in need by providing employment or helping them in their careers/business ventures.

Workshops

Our workshops are designed for aspiring models who want to learn the fundamentals of a modelling career. They get practical advice from experienced modelling experts who teach them everything they need to know to break into the industry

Pop up stores

With strategically located pop-up stores, we intend to increase brand awareness for both our modeling agency and the businesses that sponsor us VIP pre & post gathering—These events are held to demonstrate to our biggest sponsors how much we value their time, money, and loyalty

Our modelling academy brings inclusiveness and ‘realness’ to the modelling and beauty world by training, guiding, and mentoring women of all sizes, shapes, and backgrounds to set the ramp alight at Fashion shows and Fashion Weeks

Our annual runway show held once a year showcases the work of many established and upcoming designers, donned by a diverse group of women from disparate cultural backgrounds, while promoting sponsoring businesses at the event and giving back to the community by contributing to charity



RF STORY

Ravishing Fashionistas is a truly unique concept created by
Upma Kite – Mrs. Australia Universal 2019 to help women restore
their sense of self-confidence, high self-esteem, and positive
body image.
From the very beginning, Ravishing Fashionistas (referred to as
RF from here on in) has not only focused on this inclusivity but
also promoted it. We exist to help women embrace themselves
confidently by breaking through stereotypes in the fashion
industry. We are setting a new standard where any woman can
be a model and set the ramp alight.
Our vision is to help the average women from disparate cultural
backgrounds to reach their maximum potential and find their
uniqueness to be a better version of themselves.
RF is here to Break Stereotypes in the fashion industry and help
women restore their sense of self-confidence, high self-esteem,
and positive body image by offering guidance that allows them
to face up to the challenges in their lives and take actions that
can lead to positive outcomes in life by mentoring, coaching,
and personal empowerment lessons to women of all ages, sizes,
and from diverse backgrounds so that they can be the best
version of themselves.

With her success and newfound fame, Upma is instrumental and passionate in helping other women to achieve the same, especially for women of middle age with age-old beliefs. She wants to abolish prejudice against women in a male dominant world. She believes in equality for all, irrespective of gender. Today, Upma mentor’s women facing challenges in their lives and helps them to restore their sense of self confidence, higher esteem and positive body image.

Upma believes that positive actions will lead to positive outcomes. She wants to lead by example and share her experiences to benefit and inspire other women. Her achievements include gaining her pilot license to fly Cessna and Piper Cub aircraft, practicing as a marriage counsellor and working in corporate offices, to being a wife, mother, friend and inspiration to many.

Ravishing Fashionistas is truly a unique concept of any age & any size inclusivity. Ravishing Fashionistas is going to help the young women and girls in the coming future to build & boost their confidence and positive body image.

Today, she is a renowned fashion icon in the fashion & beauty industry. Upma uses Ravishing Fashionistas fashion & modelling academy platform to get her message and story to the public, helping women in need, especially those suffering from domestic violence and other forms of discriminations and sufferings. Today, she founded the Dignifying Women Foundation to simply help women who suffer from DV and other related matters.

Upma is also an ambassador to several other charities. She is a beauty queen with a heart of gold, she firmly believes in giving back to the community by volunteering to raise funds for the needy. Non-profit charities she worked with included The Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, The Smith Family, Salvation Army and UN women National committee Australia.

Upma Kite has transformed her life from being a mother to working in the corporate world and now the reigning Mrs. Australia Universal 2019. This is no small feat for her as a woman especially of Indian heritage background. She is results-driven, a true fighter who demonstrates a WILL TO WIN. Her magnetic presence radiates positive energy to everyone around her. She encourages women to embrace their personal power and to be free.
