RF Fashion Week 2023: A Triumph of Creativity, Diversity, and Empowerment

RF Fashion Week 2023 has left me truly amazed. Witnessing our models confidently showcase the remarkable creations of talented designers instilled immense pride. This year’s event reached new heights with an outdoor runway in Queen Street Mall, Queensland’s fashion hub, promoting positive body image and empowering individuals to embrace their uniqueness.

Hosted by renowned MC Damien Anthony Avery-Rossi, the show featured stunning collections from fifteen established and emerging designers, captivating audiences with their artistry. The journey began back in March with an inclusive casting call, where our esteemed judges meticulously selected talented models of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. Under the guidance of model coach Mercy Woods and choreographer Unga Folau, these models participated in intensive workshops to perfect their runway walks.

RF Fashion Week officially commenced on July 14 with Designer Talks led by fashion stylist Casey Grant and iModel Fashion Magazine editor Anthony Rice. Designers shared their journeys and insights, fostering community within the fashion industry.

The grand highlight was the spectacular runway show at Queen Street Mall. As the sun set, the runway came alive with energy as models graced the stage, showcasing diverse styles from elegant couture to avant-garde designs. Notable guests included Emma and Amy Sheppard, Simone Elliot from The Real Housewives of Melbourne, and Kylie Lang, Associate Editor at Courier Mail.

The VIP Pre-Show Party and After Party at the Hyatt Regency Brisbane exemplified style and glamour, bringing together fashion enthusiasts and special guests for an unforgettable evening.

I am immensely grateful to my incredible team and dedicated volunteers whose hard work made RF Fashion Week 2023 a remarkable success. The positive response from our audience has paved the way for a brighter, more inclusive future in Brisbane’s fashion scene. As attendees left, they carried inspiration and excitement for what lies ahead.
